Chromosome 17 Support Groups:
Family of Chromosome 17 disorders- is C17’s support group where families of Chromosome 17 disorders can join and share their experiences with other members. This is a USA-based group but welcomes members from around the world. Please feel free to join our group.

Prisms- is dedicated to providing information and support to families of persons with Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS) and fostering partnerships with professionals to increase awareness and understanding of SMS.

USA-Based Support Groups:

Chromosome Deletion Outreach (CDO)-is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 providing support, information and advocacy for families affected by rare chromosome disorders.

MUMS National Parent to Parent Network-Is a national Parent-to-Parent organization for parents or care providers of a child with any disablility, rare or not so rare disorder, chromosomal abnormality or health condition.

UK-Based Support Groups:

Unique…but not alone-is a source of information and support to families and individuals affected by any rare chromosome disorder and the professionals who work with them. Unique is a United Kingdom-based charity but welcomes members worldwide.

Contact a Family-is the only UK-wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children - no matter what their disability or health condition. We also enable parents to get in contact with other families, both on a local and national basis.

Disorder Leaflets: Unique has put together a wonderful leaflet about 17q21.31 deletion syndrome. It is available to all members of Unique free of charge. We would like to thank Unique for putting the leaflet together, and to the parents that donated information and photos about their child. (Look closely, you will see some of our C17 kids throughout the leaflet!)
