What is C17 about?

Chromo17.com is a national parent-to-parent organization for parents or individuals affected by any Chromosome 17 condition.

Mission Statement
To encourage communication among families having a Chromosome 17 abnormality, and to provide the latest resources available such as articles, books, other support groups, etc.

Who we are? 

Our group was founded February 12, 2008, by opening family of Chromosome17 disorders support group, a USA-based support group but not limited to USA members. Then I decided that we needed a place where parents of Chromosome 17 disorders could go and get information on Chromosome 17 disorders at thsir fingertips, rather than spend the countless hours that I did searching for answers.

What we plan for the future
We plan to one day have enough members to become a nonprofit organization, so we can have the financial support that will enable us to provide newsletters as well as brochures to members and medical providers.

Dedication
This site is dedicated to my son, and to Jacob (17q21.31 microdeletion syndrome), as well as others diagnosed with Chromosome 17 abnormalities, and to my wonderful husband, our three wonderful children, our families, and my friends for supporting us through all of the ups and downs of the last few years.  Without them, none of this would even be possible. Also, I would like to say a special thanks to Kathy at Kinetic Solutions for donating her time developing this site. Without her, this site would not be here;  you will never know how much we appreciate all that you have done!
